A Chinese fugitive who was stopped from leaving the country by Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority officers over the weekend has been further remanded in custody by the Nadi Magistrates Court.
Wang Zu Lin who is charged with failing to declare currency will reappear in court tomorrow.
An interpreter has also been arranged for tomorrow’s case as Lin cannot speak English.
FRCA CEO, Jitoko Tikolevu said the Chinese national, a known imposter in his country, had arrived into the country through a fishing vessel and was leaving the country for Samoa.
FRCA officers conducted a body search of the passenger and recovered $10,534.77 of undeclared cash.
Tikolevu said upon liaising with authorities in China, it was established that the man was wanted by Chinese Police for some time.
