The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China today handed over office equipment, radio communication equipment, a traffic command vehicle, fiberglass and rubber boats for rescue operations that will further enhance Police Operations in Fiji.

These equipment will be used in the central division.

The donation is worth $670,000FJD.

China’s Ambassador to Fiji Zhang Ping says this assistance would enhance the capability of the Fiji Police Force in carrying out it’s duty more effectively that would deliver better services to local communities.

Ping says since the two countries signed an MOU in 2011 on the enhancement of bilateral law enforcement cooperation, exchanges between the two agencies have strengthened and broadened with more fruitful results achieved.

The Minister for Defense and National Security Ratu Inoke Kubuabola says the Fiji Police Force is again the beneficiary of bilateral relations and the handing over of equipment will further enhance the well-being of our people.

Kubuabola says in the Policing field, the support and cooperation of other policing jurisdictions is an extremely valuable asset, and to have the backing of the Chinese government is truly appreciated.

He adds that the relations between our two countries continues to strengthen and he looks forward to the deepening our cooperation for the sake our people.
