Children in Kalekana community to have access to safe toilet blocks

Children in the Kalekana community pre-school will now have access to safe toilet blocks after the community secured a $3000 donation from Fiji Gas in collaboration with Save the Children Fiji.

Save the Children Fiji’s Education Manager, Ruth Kuilamu said the pre-school will also be eligible to have the support of the Ministry of Education.

Kuilamu said that when the pre-school will be recognized by the government, the community will be able to apply for a grant for their teachers salary and the improvement of its facilities.

Fiji Gas Sales and development Manager, Samson Lal said that Fiji Gas has a very close relationship with the area and that they are always keen to forge community partnerships.

The Kalekana pre-school is currently being attended by 35 children and has 3 teachers.
