Children and staff of Dilkusha Home orphanage believe they were fortunate enough to have been provided with the special medical clinic conducted by the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Medical Centre.
Assistant Matron Deaconess, Vitinia Ketedromo says the clinic was a real treat for the children and staff because aside from the benefit of quality medical attention, it reminded the
children that they were not forgotten and that their community cared about them.
A senior caregiver with the Home, Vasiti Volirua says all 37 children and the 6 staff who accompanied them, were able to take advantage of the opportunity.
Voliria says their monthly medicals were usually held at the nearby health centre.
The Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Medical Centre Acting Medical Coordinator, Namrata Tappoo says while free medical clinics have been organised by the Sai Prema Foundation through its “Children of God” Project, this clinic was special because it was the Home’s first visit to the centre.
The medical centre project is a joint effort with the Ministry of Health, which provides the medical staff, and aims to provide quality health care for the less fortunate free of cost.
