“I urge you to support the leadership of the current government led by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and the major developments that are currently underway in the North.”
Those were the words of one of the chiefs of Macuata, Taukei Namara Ratu Peni Vukicanavanua who spoke at the opening of the Macuata Provincial Council meeting today.
Ratu Peni is a chief of Naduri and was requested by the Tui Macuata Ratu Williame Katonivere to speak on his behalf while he chairs the meeting.
Meanwhile, the 70km Dreketi-Nabouwalu Highway is one of the major developments currently underway in the North that is expected to be discussed today.
Other major developments include the extension of FNU in Labasa and the double storey Labasa market.
38 Chiefs and Tikina members of Macuata are currently at the meeting at the Khatriya Hall in Labasa.
