The Public Accounts Committee will convene next week for their first meeting since August last year.
Chairman Biman Prasad says it is disappointing that they did not meet for several months but they will convene next week when all members are available.
Prasad says they will need to look at the implications of the change in the Standing Orders where the Chairman of the committee can be changed after serving 12 months in the position.
Prasad is ready for any decision that will be made.
The amended Standing Orders state that the Public Accounts Committee members can appoint any member of the committee as Chairperson.
The previous provision only allowed an Opposition member to be the Chairperson.
These changes were passed by parliament in February.
The government members in the Public Accounts Committee are Government whip Ashneel Sudhakar, Mohammed Dean and Alex O’Connor.
Biman Prasad and Aseri Radrodro are the Opposition members.
