Caubati Squatter Upgrading Project to house 248 families

The completion of the civil construction work at the Caubati Squatter Upgrading Project phase 1 will see the housing of two hundred and forty eight eligible tenants.

Minister for Local Government, Housing and Environment Parveen Bala said the lots will be ranging from 200 to 400 square meters, 1 commercial lot, 2 civic lots for religious purposes and another two civic lots as open space for recreational purposes.

Bala said at the completion, the first 78 fully serviced residential lots with the provision of sealed roads, piped water, sewer reticulation, fire hydrant, electricity services and proper drainage system will be available to the eligible tenants.

He said the Ministry is undertaking the squatter settlement upgrading project which is expected to benefit 2,021 tenants.
