‘Be Servants of Peace’

This was the message from the Leader of the Catholic Church in Fiji Archbishop Peter Loy Chong as Christians all over the world commemorate Easter today.

Archbishop Loy Chong says that while Easter is a Christian tradition, they call everyone to be agents of peace.

He says Easter is not only about Jesus coming back to life but it is also about how the disciples experienced peace through the spirit, teachings and principles of Jesus.

Archbishop Loy Chong says peace is central to the message of Easter.

He says there is no peace when there is war and violence, when people can not exercise their freedom, and when human rights are violated.

He says in the recent years the increase in domestic and sexual violence is noticeable.

He says faith based educative community continue to dialogue with government to protect the special ethos of our schools.
