Children who are deaf will be given an opportunity soon to hear for the first time free of charge.
This will be made possible through the distribution of 700 hearing aids by Carabez Alliance, a charitable organization.
The founder of Carabez Alliance, Bronwyn Carabez said some Chinese donors are prepared to donate simple hearing aids that can be programmed very easily with little training.
Carabez said these hearing aids are not sophisticated and will give the deaf an opportunity to hear for the first time and give them a better quality of life.
The clinics will run from November 23rd to the 28th in Special Schools in Lautoka, Ba, Sigatoka and Suva.
Carabez said all applicants will have to register before they come to the clinics as they have the limit of 700 hearing aids.
Meanwhile, Carabez Alliance opened a state-of-the-art hearing clinic in the Bayly Clinic in Suva where they run programs for the deaf children to aid them with hearing care, speech and language courses.
