Communications Fiji Limited, the parent company of FM96, LegendFM, Navtarang, Sargam and VitiFM has been granted a 15 year FM Broadcasting License from the Telecommunications Authority of Fiji.
TAF Chairman Shivnesh Prasad said CFL has been granted the license because they have maintained compliance of the requirement of the Authority’s standard.
Prasad said with the extension of the license, the Authority also hopes to see CFL continue doing what they do best.
Prasad said from the specification describing the license register Fijivillage.com operation via online medium is also covered in the new license.
Receiving the license and reading a statement on behalf of CFL’s Chairman Matt Wilson, Managing Director William Parkinson and General Manager Ian Jackson, News Director Vijay Narayan said they are proud of the way in which their radio station has served the people over the last 30 years.
Narayan said the new license is a great Christmas present for them just on Christmas Eve they are getting 15 year license as they will continue to serve their listeners.
Meanwhile, CFL’s Secretary Jyoti Solanki said they have continued to adhere to all the conditions of the license.
Solanki said the company has been on top of their game in making sure they pay they license fee which is 1.5% of the Gross Revenue.
