The issue of bystanders stopping taxis for people or forcefully assisting shoppers with their shopping outside major supermarkets along the Suva‑Nausori corridor and demanding that people and taxi drivers give them money has not been reported to Police.
This has been confirmed by Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro adding that people must report the matter as Police cannot just go and arrest anyone without having a legal basis to do so.
This is after concerns raised by people saying that the forced assistance outside major supermarkets along the Suva‑Nausori corridor is now a nuisance.
This is happening opposite the Suva market, outside MHCC, supermarkets in Nabua, Nakasi and Makoi.
