Opposition MP Mosese Bulitavu has asked why Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum was present in the Parliamentary Privileges Committee meeting yesterday.
Bulitavu says Sayed-Khaiyum should not be part of the committee.
Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the government moved the motion and the government members will be part of the committee meeting.
Opposition MP, Tupou Draunidalo asked the Speaker to suspend the deliberations of the Committee until she has given her ruling on whether or not a complainant can sit in judgement of the person accused.
Opposition MP Niko Nawaikula also questioned the involvement of the Attorney General in the Committee.
Speaker Jiko Luveni says she cannot discuss the work of the Privileges Committee as it is currently sitting.
Luveni says she will provide her ruling at a later date.
