The body of an i-Taukei woman aged between 20 to 30 years was found by some members of the public at Nadi Back Road at about 6 o’clock yesterday morning.
It has been classified as a hit and run road accident.
Police spokesperson, Josaia Weicavu says the woman is believed to have been hit by a vehicle at the Nadi back road sometime early yesterday morning causing her death.
Her body is now kept at the Nadi mortuary and police are requesting members of the public to assist in her identification.
Members of the public with missing loved ones of that age are requested to contact Nadi Police Station for the identification of the victim.
The post mortem will be arranged once the body is positively identified by her family members.
The woman was wearing long black trousers with a blue t‑shirt and a greyish cardigan tied around her waist when her body was found.
Members of the public with any information of the vehicle involved are requested to call Crime Stoppers on 919.
