Bodies of 2 men swept away by strong currents found

The bodies of two men who were swept away by strong currents while trying to cross the Vunaniu River in Serua last night have been recovered.

54-year-old Rusiate Ratulevu’s body was recovered last night while the body of Maika Kulabuli, a pastor in his 30s, was found this afternoon.

Ratulevu’s wife Amalaini said two weeks ago, her husband told her that if God calls him, she has to fulfill the plans which were set for his retirement next year.

Amalaini said her husband who was a driver for Highway Stabilizers wanted to extend their 3 bedroom house and buy a vehicle for the family.

The mother of four said she misses her husband and she will keep his promise.
