Over 100 Fijians including students and teachers of the Navesi Primary School from Udu village in Totoya, Lau will now have better access to their Health facility with their newly boat donated by the Minister for Education.
School Treasurer Pita Ledua says having a boat of their own has been one of the schools longest dreams.
Ledua says the students and teachers pay up to $90 to $100 per trip to the hospital or Post Office which is located 5 kilometres form the school and village.
While handing over the boat, Education Minister Mahendra Reddy says this is government’s aim to get all students to have better chances in education.
Uciwai District School from Moala, Lau also received a boat engine today.
