A biofuel testing laboratory worth $865,000 is expected to be established at the Institute of Applied Science at the University of the South Pacific.
While officiating at the USP 2016 Orientation, President Joji Konrote says this is a partnership between the Department of Energy and the USP.
Konrote says this will allow biofuel producers in Fiji and possibly the region to have easy access to accredited fuel testing facilities which ensures that test costs are reduced improved turnaround times for samples to be analysed.
He says this project benefits not only Fiji but the wider region.
Meanwhile, the fourth USP campus in Kiribati has been operational from the first Semester of this year.
