Leader of the National Federation Party and Opposition member Biman Prasad said when necessary they will criticize government policies.
During his maiden speech in parliament, Prasad said when they will criticize, it will not be for the sake of doing so, but they will also provide credible alternatives.
He said the Prime Minister called for their support to his program for government.
He added they will extend that support and will hold the Prime Minister to his own words.
Prasad said NFP offers their principles of fairness, equality and social justice to the government to take our country forward and help it realize its full potential.
He added he did not resign as Professor of Economics to pursue politics as a career.
He said he joined politics with a deep conviction that through collective action and perseverance they can change things in Fiji for the better, however difficult the obstacles may be.
