Assistant Minister for Health Veena Bhatnagar says women and girls can make an impact on Non Communicable Diseases crisis in Fiji.
Speaking at the Soroptimist Open day in Sigatoka yesterday, Bhatnagar says survey results in 2011 have clearly shown that women are two times more obese than men, and children look to their mothers as their role models.
Bhatnagar says every woman must ensure that everyone in their family is screened for NCD’s which is having eye check, dental check, sugar, pressure and cholesterol checks and cancer check.
Bhatnagar urged everyone to utilize the screening services that have been made available by the Sigatoka Hospital Team.
