More than 3,500 people including school students will benefit from this new bridge.
Some students have lost their lives after falling off the old wooden bridge in previous years.
Coqeloa Advisory Councillor Navin Dutt Sharma says people from Naleba, Ranibulu and Raranikawai will also benefit from the new bridge.
