Be mindful of the restriction placed on us while enforcing law and order - Groenewald

Police are to be mindful of the restriction placed on them while enforcing law and order in the community.

While speaking at the Seminar on International Policing Standards and Exercise of Police Powers, Police Commissioner Ben Groenewald highlighted that this is the exact challenge they are dealing with right now in reference to the latest brutality cases that are in the media on a daily basis.

He added that the authority and power of the Police is restricted or limited.

Groenewald stresses they cannot be a Policeman, a Prosecutor, a Judge and Jury.
