Members of the Rewa Provincial Council have been advised to be careful when presenting a tabua in an i-Taukei ceremony.
Speaking at the Rewa Provincial Council meeting at the Novotel Hotel in Lami yesterday, Senior Training Officer of the i-Taukei Affairs, Ro Aca Mataitini said people who gather for traditional functions should keep a look out for fake tabua.
Mataitini shared a story of a family who bought a fake tabua for $500.
The fake tabua is made of fibreglass.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Rewa Provincial Council, Uraia Waibuta said the construction of the Rewa Vutia road is one of the major developments that is expected to start next year.
Waibuta said this project will improve the social and economic well-being of the people in Rewa.
