Bala’s trial to be held next Tuesday and Wednesday

Infrastructure Minister Parveen Bala’s trial will be held next Tuesday and Wednesday at the Lautoka Magistrates Court.

The matter was to be called before Magistrate Rangajeeva Wimalasena today.

However, it has been adjourned to next week and we have been informed that the magistrate is in a workshop.

A 48-year-old man was crossing the road in Teidamu, Lautoka when he was allegedly hit by a vehicle driven by Bala in November, 2013.

The man was taken to the hospital but died three hours later.
