Local Government Minister Parveen Bala has told the Opposition to stop making untrue statements after his responses to questions on the Local Government Act was called wrong and incorrect.
Debate on this issue started when Opposition MP Jiosefa Dulakiverata asked for a realistic timeline on when the review of the Local Government Act would be completed.
Bala then asked why the Opposition was constantly asking for time lines as he has already said that the review of the act will be completed by September this year.
Opposition MP Biman Prasad then asked the Minister when the Local Government elections will be held.
Bala said that the elections will be held when the Local Government Act is implemented.
Opposition MP Niko Nawaikula then said that the Minister should admit that he is wrong.
