It is very encouraging to see that cities and towns besides their normal business, the administration engage in community work to raise money for a worthy cause.
Minister for Local Government, Housing and Environment, Infrastructure and Transport, Parveen Bala said this during the program opening at the Vodafone Tebara Carnival 2015 at Syria Park Nausori last night.
Bala said that annual town carnival programs assist in promoting and marketing a town as a destination for shopping and visiting for recreational purpose.
He said that as the second main air entry port into the country, there is a need for commitment to turn the airport and town into a suitable welcoming point for all the travellers.
Meanwhile, with the theme ‘Building a safe and a resilient community’ one of the six contestants will be crowned tomorrow night.
