The Prime Minister and FijiFirst Leader Voreqe Bainimarama has rubbished a video that was sent to him which has SODELPA candidate Jope Koroisavou talking about Christianity and in the same breath referring to the AG as‘uluqali’.
Uluqali is a derogatory iTaukei term used when referring to Indo Fijians which means silky hair.
Bainimarama says that this showed what a bad heart Koroisavou had towards the Attorney General.
When questioned by Fijivillage about the Prime Minister’s comments regarding his video, SODELPA candidate Jope Koroisavou says that he is first honoured to even be mentioned by the Prime Minister in his campaign speeches.
Koroisavou claims that concerns had been raised previously when he tried to talk about issues pertaining to the Attorney General and due to this, he says that he has sought other ways to get his point across without directly mentioning the Attorney General. He says he does not see anything wrong with that.
Koroisavou adds that the Prime Minister is the last person to start talking about naming people as he claims that Bainimarama has been calling people with other names.
