Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama was accorded with a 50 men Guard of Honour at the traditional grounds of Kaumatua in Auckland today before he met with his New Zealand counterpart John Key.
Bainimarama was accorded with the 'wero' welcome ceremony.
'Wero' is an aggressive challenge of the visitor at the beginning of the ceremony performed in New Zealand.
Bainimarama later met Key at the New Zealand Government House in Auckland.
While giving his official address at the New Zealand Government House, Bainimarama said he had a very productive meeting with Key this morning.
Bainimarama says they had a broaden and positive discussions about many issues of mutual concern.
He also thanked Key for inviting him to New Zealand to have discussions on important issues.
New Zealand's Prime Minister John Key says they have been actively re-building relationship between the two countries.
Key says they are aware that the Fijian government is actively considering it's position on PACER Plus and New Zealand believes that there are good reasons for Fiji to join this important regional agreement.
Key has also welcomed Fiji's decision to remove travel bans on foreign media.
