Baby’s body found by council workers in Savusavu

A body of a baby was found by council workers in Savusavu when they were collecting rubbish yesterday morning.

An investigation is underway and anyone with information that could help police locate the mother or knows anything about the tragic incident is to call Crimes Stoppers on 919.

While the investigation is ongoing, police are urging those who are posting and sharing pictures of the child on social media to refrain from doing so.

Police say that this is a sad and tragic case and to have the photo of the child circulated as such is really poor judgement and they hope people will have the good sense not to share the photo on social media.
