A one‑month‑old baby who received serious injuries following an accident along Queens Highway in Nadi a week ago passed away at the Lautoka hospital yesterday afternoon.
A 29-year‑old carpenter was driving a vehicle with two other passengers when an argument developed between him and his 26‑year‑old wife who was sitting in the back seat of the private vehicle with the baby.
It is alleged the vehicle veered off the road and hit a concrete post after the 26‑year‑old woman hit the driver on his head.
The 26‑year‑old woman and the baby were thrown forward due to the impact of the accident.
Police Spokesperson, Atunaisa Sokomuri said the parents of the baby will be questioned soon.
