Two hundred students who are less fortunate today received back to school packs from BSP as the new school year starts on Monday.
Each pack contains a school bag, exercise books, folders, stationery, calculators and water bottles.
While giving out the school packs, BSP Country Head Haroon Ali acknowledged the Government’s initiative to support free education and reiterated that BSP’s donation is in line with the Bank’s commitment to serving the communities they operate in.
Ali says BSP is aware of the other costs involved in sending a child to school such as uniforms, sandals and decent meals and they are proud to partner with Foundation for the Education of Needy Children Fiji who has a proven track record in assisting in these areas.
He says BSP’s partnership with Foundation for the Education of Needy Children Fiji began in 2010 and they have since donated over $85,000, both cash and in-kind, to this national effort.
