The Australian Government is yet to finalise investigations in regards to the complaints of unfair treatment by the Fijian Seasonal Workers in Australia.
A spokesperson of the Australian Government says in the case of the Approved Employer subject to recent media coverage, the allegations are being fully investigated by the Department of Employment and the Fair Work Ombudsman.
The spokesperson says the investigations are thorough and considering all relevant information and evidence is taking some time.
Meanwhile, seasonal workers in Australia who claim they were being paid less than $10 AUD a week have walked off their farms while some have returned to Fiji.
Minister for Employment Semi Koroilavesau says he was informed by the workers that remain at the farms that the workers that have claimed abuse were influenced by the some members of the Fijian Community in Melbourne.
Koroilavesau says he has discussed this matter with the Community and Church leaders, and he needs to find a way to deal with the Fijian Community in Shepparton and Melbourne.
He is yet to receive the investigation report on the claims made by the Fijian workers.
