Aust High Comm advised of visa scams

The Australian High Commission has been advised of visa scams relating to fake work visa permits for the Seasonal Worker Program and Work and Holiday Visa Program between Australia and Fiji.

Some migration, recruitment and travel agents are producing fraudulent letters or permits intended to look like they have been produced by the Australian High Commission.

While Australia has invited Fiji to join the Seasonal Worker Program and Work and Holiday Visa program, neither of these arrangements has yet been implemented.

This means that while both the governments of Fiji and Australia are working on these arrangements, no such visas are yet in place for Fijian citizens for these programs.

An announcement will be made as soon as these programs are finalized.

The Australian High Commission strongly recommend that potential applicants for visas obtain information and assistance regarding visa applications from their Australian Visa Application Centre service provider TT Services.

All Fijians should refer to the official website of the Australian High Commission, Suva for information relating to visas or future work opportunities (www.fiji.highcommission.gov.au).
