Linda Aumua has been appointed as the new director for the Fiji Higher Education Commission.
Aumua replaces Salote Rabuka who is retiring after 43 years of extensive civil service.
The New Zealand citizen was selected out of the top shortlisted candidates after the post was advertised both locally and abroad.
FHEC chairperson Dr Milika Sobey the new director brings with her a wealth of experience and skills that will only benefit the commission.
Aumua who has maternal links to Fiji says she is passionate about higher education and has 30‑years of work experience around that sector in New Zealand.
