Auditor Generals reports will be published when the first parliament sits - Bainimarama

FijiFirst Leader, Voreqe Bainimarama has told the people of Vuci village in Tailevu that the Auditor General’s reports will be published when the first parliament sits after the general election.

Bainimarama made this comment after SODELPA official Isoa Kamarusi questioned Bainimarama during the FijiFirst campaign meeting last night on why the current government has not published any Auditor General’s reports since 2006.

Meanwhile Kamarusi also claimed that Vuci village boundary should fall under Rewa province.

He also questioned Bainimarama on why government officials are surveying the village boundaries as he claims that they do not have enough land.

Bainimarama then told them that the government is only conducting surveys and marking village boundaries to avoid the rising number of land disputes in the 14 provinces.

Bainimarama also told Kamarusi that if they do not want their land to be surveyed then they should inform the government officials.

The FijiFirst Leader also cleared doubts raised by a woman, saying that Fiji will never be taken over by China.

Bainimarama said that every year when he announces the National Budget, the government debts are clearly stated and that they are also being paid on time.

He also said that Laisenia Qarase’s government borrowed money to pay civil servants while the Bainimarama government only borrows money for road construction, building bridges, hospitals, wharves, rural electrification and schools.
