Assistant Superintendent of Police Fisi Nasario has become the first Fijian Police officer to complete studies at China’s leading anti-narcotics training institutions.
ASP Nasario says the illicit drug trade is evolving at a rapid pace and the course was a real eye opener on how Yunnan law enforcement was using technology to help combat the illicit drug trade.
He adds he is looking forward to putting into practice the knowledge gained during the two-year learning period particularly through the use of technology.
ASP Nasario secured a Masters in Policing, and was also voted Best Student out of the more than 30 Chinese and International students who attended the 2 year course.
Commissioner of Police Sitiveni Qiliho had led a delegation to the College where they had an opportunity to visit the anti-narcotics training centre and discuss future cooperation to help in Fiji’s war against the illicit drug trade in May last year.
The opportunity was facilitated by Fiji’s Ministry of Defense and National Security and China’s Ministry of Public Security as part of the ongoing policing cooperation between the two countries.
