Assistant Minister for Health and Medical Services Veena Bhatnagar welcomed the grievances of those in Tavua during the public consultation today.
A resident who raised concern about the shortage of doctors in the hospital said that nearly two hundred patients visit the hospital.
However, when emergency cases arise patients are left unattended for a long time.
He has asked that the Ministry look into improving the services at the Tavua Hospital so that patients are attended to much quicker.
Upon his request, the Assistant Minister has assured him and the public that she will look into the matter and try to solve the problem as soon as possible.
