Asco Motors to fix defects at no cost

Asco Motors says they have received the registrations and chassis numbers of the vehicles from their manufacturer in Japan that may have defects.

The company has confirmed that defects found in Toyota Corolla/Auris, Prius, SAI and Lexus Models manufactured between 2008 to 2015 will be fixed at no cost by the company.

Company’s Acting CEO and Secretary Ronald Kumar says they have contacted most of the car owners who are not only in Suva but also in other parts of the country.

He says Toyota Prius owners should not panic as they will commence free Special Service Campaigns for affected vehicles as soon as parts arrive from overseas.

Kumar says this also applies to customers who have bought Toyota Prius from other car dealers in Fiji as they have taken full responsibility for all Prius vehicles.

He says there are no reported cases in Fiji as yet and they are just taking precautionary measures.

Kumar says they have a special team set up at Asco Motors to handle this process.

In a market announcement yesterday, Asco Motors revealed that there are in excess of 1,000 Prius Models that may be impacted.

These vehicles may have defects to their Air Bags and the Fuel Suction Plates/Charcoal Canisters.

The company says that it must be noted that not all vehicles in this range are affected.

People can contact Asco Motors if they have these models and want to find out whether they have a defective vehicle.
