The appointments for all Land Transport Authority board members have been revoked.
Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Parveen Bala says their current term of appointment was revoked last Saturday.
Bala says this decision was made after a meeting with the board members.
He says other appointments including members of the review committee and the setting up of a complaints unit will be done this Wednesday.
The complaints unit will be based in the Western, Northern and Central division and will operate independently of the LTA management.
It will report directly to the Minister for Transport.
Bala says they will not appoint people who may have a conflict of interest with LTA.
A major recommendation made by Ministry of Justice and Anti‑Corruption in the report on the LTA industry was that the current membership of the Land Transport Authority Board needs to be replaced.
A number of complaints were made against the LTA Board, in particular the composition, meetings and processes of the Board.
It had also recommended that the Legal Framework be reviewed by the Review Committee that will be appointed by the Minister for Transport.
Another recommendation was that a specific Complaints Unit be established for 1 year to attend to complaints.
