The Land Transport Authority has announced that the applications for new taxi permits are now being called for the Nadi‑1, Nadi‑2 and Lautoka‑1 transport zones.
This comes after the uplifting of the taxi permit freeze on January 1st this year.
LTA says that the call for the application of new taxi permits for the other remaining zones will be advertised later.
The new Taxi Permit Application Forms will be available at LTA offices in Nadi and Lautoka from Monday next week for interested applicants or on their website on www.lta.com.fj.
LTA will now start receiving Taxi Permit applications from next Thursday at the Taxi Permit Processing Centre within their Head Quarters in Lautoka.
The new applications will be determined by the independent Review Committee which does not guarantee the issuance of the permit.
Nadi 1 Zone includes Momi Bay Junction and Yako up to Nadi Town Bridge, Nadi 2 Zone includes Nadi Town Bridge, Namotomoto, Navoci, Nakavu, Saunaka, Nadi Airport, Martintar, Namaka, Votualevu, Naisoso, Sabeto and Lomolomo and the Lautoka 1 Zone includes Barara, Lomolomo, Veiseisei, Saweni, Lauwaki, Wairabetia, Velovelo, Taperia, Natabua, Field 40, Navutu and Lautoka City.
