Another veteran of Operation Grapple has been compensated by government.
77-year-old, Isaia Seruvatu Baro received a payment of $9,855 from the Minister for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations, Jioji Konrote yesterday.
Baro thanked the Fijian Government for acknowledging the service and loyalty of the soldiers who were affected by the nuclear testing on Christmas Island.
He said he will use the money to buy a hearing aid for him and to make a payment for his eye surgery.
Government through the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Employment and the Nuclear Veterans Association is continually trying to verify the surviving soldiers who were victims of the Christmas Island nuclear tests.
