Another church pastor charged with rape

The number of rape cases continues to be a major concern in the country.

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions confirmed that there was one serious sexual offence last month where the accused person is a church pastor and the victim was 16-years-old.

There were five sexual offences where the victims were related to the accused person.

Of the five, one was marital rape.

22 people have been charged with a total of 47 separate cases of rape and sexual assault in June.

The DPP said that there were 36 rape cases, 2 attempted rape cases, 4 indecent assault cases and 5 sexual assault cases.

There were two people charged with serious sexual offences that were under the age of 18 years.

12 victims of serious sexual offences were under the age of 18 years.
