Police investigations regarding claims by a man that he was beaten up in police custody are continuing after it was put on hold last week.
Ricardo Fisher claims that he was picked up by the police in Suva in November last year and was allegedly beaten unconscious during his night in custody.
He alleged that he was punched and kicked by up to five policemen at the Totogo Police Station.
The 36‑year‑old claimed that he spent two days in hospital with bruises, swelling and two broken ribs.
Spokesperson Ana Naisoro had said Ricardo Fisher was not cooperating and they cannot proceed with the investigations.
Naisoro has now confirmed that investigations are continuing after Fisher showed up to give his statement.
