Schools in the Western Division from Rakiraki to Nadroga Navosa will be closed today and tomorrow until further assessments and determinations can be made on schools' reopening.
This has been confirmed by the Education Ministry.
This includes schools in Ba, Rakiraki, Tavua, Nadi, Lautoka and Sigatoka.
The Ministry of Education will continue to provide regular updates on the status of affected schools.
35 evacuation centres were activated in the Western Division and most of them were schools.
