All three assessors in the case of the 39‑year‑old man who is charged with one count of rape have come out with the unanimous not guilty opinion.
The man is alleged to have raped his 17‑year‑old niece on the 15th of October, 2016 in Gau Island.
It was told in court that the accused on the day of the alleged incident had called the victim who is now 19 years of age to wash his clothes at his home.
He then allegedly raped her at his home.
High Court Judge Justice Riyaz Hamza will deliver his judgement at 2pm next Monday the 10th of December.
The 39‑year‑old’s bail has been extended.
