Alex O’Connor was sworn in as a Fiji First Member of Parliament today.
O’Connor is the replacement MP for the former Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Pio Tikoduadua.
In his maiden speech in parliament, O’Connor said he decided to join the Fiji First party because of its core values of integrity and equality.
He considers himself as an advocate for the environment and green growth.
He joined the Fiji Navy in 1975 and had been widely involved with the private sector prior to the general elections last year.
