Albert Park in Suva will be officially opened this afternoon after undergoing a redevelopment project which started last year.
The cost of the Albert Park redevelopment project is $16.7 million.
This redevelopment includes rugby or soccer grounds, two cricket fields with artificial pitches and modern lighting.
The biggest improvement includes a new grandstand with a seating capacity for 1,000 people, corporate lounges, VIP rooms, seats for the disabled, a control room and parking for 28 vehicles.
Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama will officiate at the opening ceremony this afternoon.
Albert Park is named after the Consort of Queen Victoria of Great Britain.
The park was the site of a landing by the Australian aviator Sir Charles Kingsford Smith during the first trans‑Pacific flight from the United States to Australia in 1928.
