The Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Rosy Akbar has made an open invitation to the Opposition male members of Parliament to join her campaign in supporting the Male Advocacy Program to combat violence against women.
Akbar highlighted this as she was responding to the question asked by the Opposition MP Salote Radrodro on how she is going to involve the male Members of Parliament in her programs.
Akbar said gender violence should be everyone’s responsibility therefore it creates a need for a concerted effort in educating communities and providing them with appropriate information and guidance.
She said that faith based organizations will also be involved in this program.
