38‑year‑old Aisake Vana Junior has been sentenced to 3 years and 9 months imprisonment after Suva High Court Judge Justice Vinsent Perera found him guilty of manslaughter.

Vana Junior killed his younger brother Suliasi Veisere on April 5th at their Kalabu home after an argument over a bowl of dhal last year.

He will be eligible for parole afer 1 year and 9 months.

Justice Perera said that leniency will not send a correct message to the community.
