The Agriculture Marketing Authority of Fiji is seeking assistance from the government to upgrade their packing house to international standards.
During the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama's visit to the authority, the Sales and Marketing Manager, Alivereti Yaya says they export virgin oil, root crops, vegetables and fish to the overseas market on a monthly basis.
He says they buy all these products from the outer islands since the authority was established mainly to assist rural farmers who cannot take their produce to the market.
Yaya says a lot of work still needs to be carried out in refurbishing the factory.
Executive Chairman, Filipe Alifereti says they also need money to operate and to lift their standard.
Bainimarama says these issues will be taken into account.
