Accommodation centres to be built for women market vendors at Namaka and Nausori Markets

Accommodation centres will be built for women market vendors at the Namaka and Nausori Markets this year.

Minister for Local Government Parveen Bala was presented a cheque of $402,000 for the Nausori Market and $600,000 was given for the Namaka Market.

This money will be used for infrastructure development at the two sites.

Representative for UN Women’s Fiji Multi Country Office Aleta Miller says the Nausori Market project will see the construction of a new accommodation and resource centre for women market vendors while the Namaka market funding is specifically for the construction of the accommodation centre at the new market.
