Close to 86 elderly people in the Northern Division enjoyed the lunch and cultural items that was organised by TISI Sangam Community during the 90th Sangam Convention today in Labasa.
86-year-old Kumti Reddy of Waiqele, Labasa says it is a proud moment for her as this gathering helps her to remember their hard work.
She says this gathering brings unity not only to Sangam families but for all the communities in Fiji.
Reddy also says that it also reminds them of their parents who were brought from India to work in Fiji.
Meanwhile, TISI Sangam President Sada Siwan Naicker says that this gathering is to appreciate and respect the elderly.
Naicker says elderly people brought success for the Sangam Community and our nation as a whole.
